Latin-American and Caribbean workshop on the prevention of HIV/AIDS from a socio-cultural perspective

The Regional Office of Culture for Latin America and the Caribbean of UNESCO, based in Havana, Cuba, in conjunction with United Nations Development Program office for Cuba (the UNDP), the office of UNAIDS for Cuba and Dominican Republic, the National Center of Prevention of STI and HIV/AIDS and the National Center for Sexual Education of Cuba, are inviting to the Latin-American and Caribbean Workshop on Prevention of HIV/AIDS from a socio-cultural perspective.

The workshop has four main objectives:

  • To promote positive practices on HIV/AIDS from the socio-cultural perspective
  • To reinforce the cultural contents and quality of media products elaborated in response to HIV/AIDS
  • To identify audio-visual materials which may serve as a model for good practices in the socio-cultural approach and, at the same time, will serve as multipliers of experiences amongst the participants
  • To create new alliances incorporating to the Network results and experiences from projects in response to HIV/AIDS with a communitarian perspective
